There's more good television on sunday's than any other night of the week.  Tonight it was Luck and Shameless... or should that be Shameless and Luck?  Either way Luck (Featuring the likes of Dustin Hoffman & Nick Nolte) promises to be the winner of the season.  Don't be surprised if you note a familiar ring to the dialog in this David Milch vehicle. You remember Deadwood creator David Milch, don't you? I forgive him for John from Cincinnati, can't you?

From acclaimed director Michael Mann and 'Deadwood' creator David Milch, 'Luck' takes a provocative look at the world of horse racing - the owners, gamblers, jockeys and diverse gaming industry players.  The cast stars Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina, John Ortiz, Richard Kind, Ian Hart, Kevin Dunn, Ritchie Coster, Jason Gedrick, Jill Hennessy, Tom Payne, Kerry Condon, Gary Stevens and Nick Nolte. The pilot is directed by Michael Mann and written by David Milch.

Luck lead us to Shameless where a Fiona, who has been following in papa Frank's footsteps, was the target of one of my favorite lines of the evening:

I'm going to beat you like a piñata until pennies come out of your ass!

What was that all about? Get your own Showtime subscription and watch for yourself. Now we're moving on to House of Lies. Yup, that's right, you need both HBO and Showtime to get buy in this world.
